Competition is a major and fun part of the barbershop world that helps keep us focused on raising the bar of performing excellence. We come together in a spirit of friendly contest to see who really has top form. We root for each other, cheer each other on, and once the medals have been handed out, we sing and party into the night!
Every year in March or April, HEART OF COLUMBIA CHORUS competes in our regional contest. Dozens of choruses and quartets come together to sing and vie for top recognition. There are several judging categories, and the choruses come prepared to sing and perform at their very best. If you're in Greensboro, NC on April 26-28, you're invited to come be a part of the fun!
Sometime in the fall the winners of all regional contests - and a few "wildcards," too - meet at International competition. This past year International competition was held in Dallas, Texas. Denver, Colorado will be the host for competition 2012, October 30 - November 3. You can view the complete contest results on the Sweet Adelines International website.
