Columbia Chapter of Sweet Adelines wins big at Regional competition:
Heart of Columbia Chorus, a registered chapter of Sweet Adelines, an International organization of 30,000 women who sing four-part a capella harmony in the barbershop style, was the recipient of several
awards at their Region 14 competition held in Greensboro, NC April 28, 2012
Heart of Columbia Chorus, directed by Virginia King, did the city of Columbia proud by receiving:
“Most Improved Chorus” in Region 14, each member award
“Third Place” in their division
“DMA Award” A scoring Director’s award for most improved chorus
“Pat Leveille Award” Most improved chorus in the sound category
“The Dr. Roger Tarpy Award” to the director of the “most improved” chorus.
